Newport Central Catholic High School Launches New Branding
May 6, 2024 – Newport Central Catholic High School, located in Newport, Ky., announced today that it has launched a new brand and website, celebrating the institution’s rich 121-year history and embodying the new NewCath, a hopeful future for Catholic education.

NewCath Principal Kenny Collopy said the new brand is another step forward and builds upon the momentum the school has gained over the last several years. “Our updated branding helps to propel us into a new era of education, with a fresh perspective and the same dedication to the mission, vision, and values that our school was founded on,” said Collopy. “We want our school’s brand to represent NewCath’s strong foundation and rich history, while at the same time looking to the future of our school, of Catholic education, and of the young people we teach and guide every day. And we believe this new look does just that.”

The brand launch comes amidst the recent completion of the school’s $13 million Looking Up Campaign. The monies pledged and contributed to the capital campaign have so far allowed the school to open its Science Learning Center, to eliminate its debt, to hire a Campus Minister and Student Resource Officer, and to begin work on additional facility improvements, including a roof repair/replacement, campus entryway enhancements, driveway expansion, and HVAC upgrades to the gymnasium and original school building. Additionally, school, and diocesan officials are planning to break ground this spring on an $7.9 million on-campus Multi-Purpose Athletic Complex, which will provide a home field for the school’s soccer, track, and football teams, and a practice facility for its baseball and softball teams.

The school’s new brand and website were designed by Dewhaus, a local design agency led by husband and wife team Nick Dew (alumnus, class of 2005) and Peta Dew. Updates include a new school logo, new colors, school uniforms, athletic uniforms, signage, wayfinding, enrollment campaigns, environmental design, and website redesign.
